I'm a family man, an information technology specialist during the day, a tenor by night, and a recreational cyclist on weekends. I sing with Amare Cantare and, before kids, enjoyed performing in and directing musical theater productions, including title roles in "Pippin" and "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," and roles in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Annie Get Your Gun," "Guys and Dolls," Gilbert and Sullivan's "Patience," and others.
2008 is my sixth year raising funds and awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation's mission to inspire and empower cancer survivors. Following surgery for testicular cancer in 2003 (which recurred in 2005), I took inspiration from Lance Armstrong and got more serious about road bicycling. In September 2003, I rode my first metric century. In September and October 2004, I rode two centuries, one at home, and one in Austin, Texas -- the Ride for the Roses. In 2006, I rode 50 miles in the Granite State Quest in June, 100 miles in the LIVESTRONG Challenge Philadelphia in September, an encore 100 miles in the Tri-State Seacoast Century, and 45 miles with my wife Judy in the 2006 Ride for the Roses in Austin, Texas! In 2007, I rode the LIVESTRONG Challenge Philadelphia for a second year and visited Austin for my fourth Ride for the Roses. In 2008, I'll return to Philly and complete the 100-mile route. I'm also riding the Pan-Mass Challenge for the first time -- 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown, benefiting the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I'm also proud to be a member of Cyclists Combating Cancer and an administrator for the TC-Cancer.com support forums.
