Mom, Dad and their kids, Christmas 2005
Hello all.........Some of you I know really well.... some I've just met and some of you I don't know at all....... But here is a quick history for you....My mother was diagnosed with cancer in early 2003. She had surgery, chemo, radiation, over and over again... we thought she had won the fight at one point then it came back full force and she just couldn't beat it..... she passed away January 7, 2006. She was only 51....
Since she was first diagnosed I have wanted to do SOMETHING to support the search for a cure and just never had the mental strength to do it at the time... well... we have DONE IT! Our first Cure4Cancer Concert in October was a HUGE success! We sold out before Riot Act finished it's FIRST song! HOW'S THAT FOR SUCCESS?!?!
But we aren't done, not even close, we have a LOT of work left to do! Come join us! Help us! FIGHT WITH US!!!Just a little inside on my mom for you.... she was an AMAZING woman... always there for EVERYONE.... she was one of 7 children, all of her children have children and some of them have children too..... she left behind a HUGE family that loved her fiercely and miss her dearly... This is our way to honor her life and all that she did for others....I think that cancer affects each and every one of us in one way or another so I'm sending this to everyone in my friends list...... I think that even if you or a close family member hasn't been diagnosed with a form of cancer, someone you know has.... it's hard today to not be affected by it in one way or another....So........ I'm looking to put together Cure 4 Cancer Concert fundraising events all year long!I want to see how many local bands/groups are interested in supporting a worthy cause! Let's rock our way to a cure!People can contact me via myspace or email me at [email protected] you all in advance!!! Kim
