Elf Tranzporter, an original member of one of Australia's early legendary underground hip hop acts, MetaBass'n'Breath, brings 'heart-core' lyricism and cypher-honed beatbox percussion to the stage and audiences all over Australia, as well as abroad.
Whether rapping over beats created by some of Melbourne's finest producers or over beatbox rhythm beds, Elf eleveates the devide between music made for rocking the dance floor and sonics aimed toward consciousness raising and spiritual empowerment.
A prime mobilising force amongst many of his peers, and creative instigator from hip hop's early Australian incarnation, Elf's current live set spans the spectrum of formats, line ups and crew-constellations.
This includes Elf's as solo MC with DJ's and producers such as, DJ Wasabi, and Custom, (both featuring on the Ethereal Lotus Fleet album), studio and touring adventures as a member of the infamous Combat Wombat (whose 'Unsound System' album of 2005 is still being well received by audiences all around Australia well as internationally), as well as collaborating as an off-shore member within the San Francisco based crew, Heavyweight Dub Champion.
Over the years Elf Tranzporter has shared the stage with the following notable cast of performers: the legendary beat-poet, Allen Ginsberg (RIP) Grand Wizard Theodore, The Roots, Project Blowed, Zion I, Mos Def, Talib Kwali, Living Legends, Spearhead, Black Alicious, Ozomatli, Fat Boy Slim, The Invisible Scratch Pickles, Jeru the Damaga, Run DMC, DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born, Jurassic 5, The John Butler Trio as well as Australian High Court Judge, Justice Michael Kirby.
To balance out time spent performing in clubs throughout urban centres, Elf regularly conducts workshops Outback & shares his skills, passion for music, tutoring disadvantaged & high-risk youth in primary schools, juvenile justice centres and community events with Indigenous communities throughout Australia.
Recently, Elf released a much anticipated solo album entitled 'Ethereal Lotus Fleet' (on Method thru Shock Records) featuring production from DJ Wasabi, Custom, Count Bounce, Joelistics, Monkey Marc, local dub and dance hall vibe-master, Mista Savona along with a host of other special guests - inluding the vocal uplift-giftology of Maya Jupiter, Supina (MISO), Vida-Sunshyne and Pakistani singer, Rustam Baig.
Since the album's release on 27th of Oct. '07, the work has been met with rave reviews and is beckoning the call for follow up actions on both stages and studios both here in Australia as well as internationally, with a world tour and takeover starting... moments from now. (keep you posted)
