About Me

Steven Buckley. Called 'Billy' since the age of about 14 due to a lasting obsession with Rockabilly/'50s +'60's R'n'b music. Been playing since age 7 when my old man gave me his 1959 Hofner club 40 electric guitar which I then started to play exclusively 1959 music on. Horizons were widened and I gazed bleary eyed into the colourful world of 1960 (In 1983).........................Anyhow, times move on and the single 1959 Hofner guitar playing 1959 music has bred into a roomful of Gibson, Fender, Gretsch guitars, amps, lap steels and a pedal steel playing a brew of groovy roots, contemporary Jazz and spaghetti western inspired twang. Thank god I don't collect ______(fill in the blank)................................................Since those heady days, I've had and am having the absolute pleasure to gig and record with many, many, many, fantastic musicians playing a range of styles that all seem to connect with the same excellent vibe. Pete King, Alan Skidmore, Jean Toussaint, Georgie Fame, Gerard Presencer, Richard Hawley, Corrine Bailey Rae, Angie Palmer, The Haggis Horns, Kreeps, Victor + Kyla Brox, George Borowski, Cornershop, members of Morcheeba, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Herbalizer, The Haggis Horns, To y'all I salute.Currently am recording a series of original tunes under the title of The Wagon Train - will be ready by April. ..This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5
