This page is dedicated to the Beloved Coon Doggs, 1991-2006.
He passed away on June 22nd, (a magical evening) the night of the Summer Solstice, in loving arms, naturally, one month before his 16th Birthday. He went with grace, dignity and one last kicking fight. He was awake and lucid for his departure. He had the chance to say farewell to all of his favorite places and loved ones during the week and half before his passing. Coon was a one of a kind creature, completely reveling in the essence of life, truly embracing all of his experiences. He was and is a Guardian and angel to us, the land and the neighbors, especially his many kitty friends! Coon cannot be replaced. Many more friends of all breeds and colors may come to us but none will fill the space of the Almighty Coon, a gentle and graceful warrior, a lover and a friend through all time and space…..
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, -WOW- What a ride..!!!!"
"No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever."
-Francois Mocuriac
"The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more that black people were made for white, or women created for men" - Alice Walker
"Life is life-whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage..."~Sri Aurobindo(poet and philosopher)
""All good things are wild, and free." --Henry David Thoreau (essayist and poet)
On no subject are our ideas more warped and pitiable than on death. Instead of the friendly union, of life and death so apparent in Nature, we are taught that death is an accident, a deplorable punishment for the oldest sin, the archenemy of life.
But let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life, and that the grave has no victory, for it never fights. All is divine harmony.
-John Muir from A Thousand-Mile Walk to the Gulf

“A little About Coonâ€.
To read more about him see his Blog.
My name is Coon, named "Coon" because I am a Maine Coon Cat.
My first given name "Kotin", was too hard for people to pronounce so I got a simple "Coon" when I turned 6. We found out later that "Kotin" means Cat in Lithuanian, one of my lady guardians native tongues of long ago. Doggs came even later, added because I like to roam the woods with my human friends, look out the car window and because I am such a super chill, cool Cat.
My best friend is my fish. I love to drink his water and I would never eat him. He swims up to my mouth when I drink, so I guess he's not afraid of me. His name is Coon's fish III, the original one was a birthday present. My fish went on a hunger strike for a couple days after I went to the other side......
This is my other friend, but he just doesn’t get the hint sometimes that he is not allowed in my temple so I have to give him a friendly reminder.
