Sounds Like: Soaring tunes made by sawing guitars with sore heads.
Vapour Trail became established throughout 2005, firstly as a solo acoustic act. Having made some home recordings, which found their way onto the first eponymous CD
Vapour Trail , singer/songwriter (eek) Rob Davies took the plunge into the live arena, playing support to Inspiral Carpets frontman, Tom Hingley and Mark Morriss of Bluetones fame. Repeat bookings were secured at renowned venues like London’s Filthy MacNastys and the Half Moon in Putney.
Having finished the
Extended Play EP in January 2006, Rob expanded Vapour Trail into a 4-piece live act, to put across the layered arrangements of the recordings. The band made their live debut at The Vibe Bar in London’s Brick Lane, in August 2006.
Following a string of live shows, the 4-piece went into the studio in early 2007, to start recording the follow-up You've Been Framed, only to lose everything in a government-sized data loss disaster. However, starting again from scratch turned out to be a heavily-disguised blessing, as the results of the re-recorded material, eventually finished in December 2007, far exceed the quality and vibe of the originals, hurrah.
Have a listen, let us know what you think, make us rich and sleep tight in the knowledge that you've done a good thing.
Thanks for listening...
