Music (playing and listening - all types from rock to hip hop), books (Russian literature to horror to classic fantasy to non-literature / history / biographies), mountain biking, golfing, camping, boating (anything to do with water), oh yeah, and drinking...
None other than Cliff Burton, Gogol, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Steve Harris, David Fincher, Ingmar Bergman, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, the guys from Mastodon, Thrice, Tortoise, My Chemical Romance, Judas Priest, Dr. Teeth, Angus Young, Syd Barret (not necessarily in that order), or a plethora of dead people I never will get a chance to meet or speak to unless I learn to speak worm...
I listen to everything from Motown to Pantera, from NWA to My Chemical Romance, from Led Zeppelin to Mudvayne, and from Snoop Dogg to Iron Maiden.
Bergman, Kurosawa, Fincher, Oshima, Zombie movies, b-horror movies, Jacob's Ladder, 28 Days Later (not technically a Zombie movie), Rob Zombie movies (he's pretty damn good), and Porky's.
TV is the "Opiate of the Masses". I watch sports, the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. I got hooked on the cancelled TV show "Firefly" a little bit ago, but that's on DVD... ...does that count?
I'm still working my way through War and Peace, and taking occasional tangents to other historical sources to get a good perspective on the story. I'm also reading the new book by Richard Dawkins, The God Hypothesis. Pretty interesting stuff about religiosity, and folks who cleave to it.
There are people that I look up to. I don't know if I'd consider them heroes, most of them are just hard-workin' folk doing what they need to to survive.Oh yeah, and Wolverine. He's pretty bad-ass.
