Linda

High-profile New York drag queen

About Me

Since the late 1980s, I’ve been part of NYC’s drag scene as a nightlife personality, writer, and founder and editor of My Comrade, “the revolutionary gay magazine.” And look at how fresh I still am! It’s incredible…
Currently, I host two weekly nightlife events:
On Mondays, I co-host Bingo with Mr. Murray Hill at Mo Pitkin's (34 Ave A). Lots of prizes, lots of laffs! I recommend getting there early to get a seat.
On Wednesdays, I host Slurp at the Cock (29 Second Ave), which is consistently a blast! Each night features a show, go-go dancers and fantastic DJs Michael Magnan and Tefar. The crowd is hip, sexy and friendly, and there are lots of random perverts to keep things spicy...

My Interests

This week at SLURP

I love being creative and entertaining others... My lifestyle has been very bohemian (no money!), but I am increasingly becoming a professional woman of vast power and riches!

I'd like to meet:

One of my favorite expressions is “Everyone is a teacher.” I love meeting all sorts of people and through each experience I learn something about them and about myself. Do I sound sappy? Well, then I guess I am.
Also, I change my Top Friends often so I can include everyone... I love 'em all!

Music:

Experimental electronic music, old-school hip-hop, punk and rock and roll hits, gay dancefloor stuff, sugary pop tunes.

Movies:

I just don't find the time... But I do adore the cinema.

Television:

I mostly channel surf. I like BBC news for its worldwide perspective. My fave sitcom is "Absolutely Fabulous" (the early seasons).

Books:

My favorite book of all time is Jacqueline Susann’s Valley of the Dolls, which is a devastating and brilliant look at the pursuit of success and happiness. I read it again and again.

Heroes:

Anyone willing to speak up against religious bigotry and ignorance. Religion, yuck!
