About Me

I'm probably in need of a new, powerful, anti-paranoia medication that hasn't been invented yet. ********************************************************* ********************************************************* .. This is my cat, Iggy Pop, working on her self-improvement with her psychology/self-help books, while also deriving some comfort from her Batman doll. I do not want you to think those are MY books, because I definitely do not need any help of any kind, and I also don't want you to think that is my Batman doll, because it is definitely Iggy's. - - -- - - Poor Iggy!!! She devotes several hours every day to her self-improvement. She favors an eclectic approach, as you can see from the books pictured. (Laing, Reich, Freud, and blahblah). Sometimes, when I come home, she is in Gestalt mode, and I catch her role-playing in her chair, "Why the fuck is there always cat hair all over this apartment?!" she yells, or "Shit! Did you throw up on the floor AGAIN?" and I realize she is role-playing ME, trying to work out her resentment. And then I think, poor Iggy, maybe I have actually earned that resentment! However, it is in my interest to let her continue thinking it's all her fault, so, I'm sorry to say, that's what I do. - - -- - - Other times, when I wake up she is furiously scrawling in her journal, writing down last night's dream, and analyzing the symbols, Freudian style, hoping to free herself from her hopeless crushes, sexual proclivites, and other neuroses too numerous and sorted to mention here. "I will be perfect tomorrow!!" she writes. Sometimes she writes so hard, it tears the paper!- - -- - - Sometimes, when I come home from the store, she is on the phone with her sponsor (Iggy is an adult cat of cats, as well as a very bad rage-oholic.) As soon as I walk in, she says, "It's her," and sighs with exasperation, and hangs up. I feel kind of bad then, like maybe it was me she was talking about!! - - -- - - Before bed, sometimes she is in the lotus position, meditating in her yoga. Iggy is a buddhist. I feel a little bad about that, too. I think if I had fed her high quality food, instead of always the very cheapest, then she would have the agnostic/captolistic religion more typical of privileged cats who are a little more used to their work &/or money paying off, so that sometimes they have gotten what they want, and hence, they believe more in the power of human will and reason. As it is, Iggy has developed a philosophy that embraces the suffering and want which she has always known. POOR IGGY!!! If you get a chance, send her a note of comfort. THANKS!!!!!
