About Me

*UPDATE*

Hallowed Point - Indestructible (Live in Wakefield)
Hallowed Point was born in March of 2006, when drummer Dave Herbert together with guitarists Daniel Whitehouse and Andy Phillips joined forces intent on bringing real thrash metal back to the forefront of the local scene, fed up with scores of metalcore bands posing as "thrash".
Influenced by their favourite classic thrash bands from the Bay Area and Europe, together with newer power and progressive metal bands, the band set to work on writing their debut E.P.
After a couple of solid months spent writing and recording, the band headed straight into the studio to record their debut E.P. "Fatal Judgement" in June 2006.
This was immediately followed by a two week UK tour during July 2006 with Hamerex and Icarus, where the band showcased their exciting new material.
After a few more gigs scattered around West Yorkshire throughout the Summer of 2006, culminating with an appearance at the all day thrash metal festival "Full Thrash Assault '06" at The Snooty Fox in Wakefield in late September, the band parted ways with lead guitarist Daniel Whitehouse. Daniel felt he could no longer commit full time to the band and both parties decided this was the necessary step to take in order to move forward.
In October 2006, Hallowed Point recruited bassist Andy Stirk, which finally put an end to their bassist woes, and also released their long-awaited debut 4 track "Fatal Judgement" E.P.
After a few unsuccessful guitarist auditions over the next few months, the band decided to hit the road as 3-piece, performing a number of gigs around Yorkshire which saw them support the likes of Evile, Headless Cross and Deadweight.
The reaction to the band's new live show has so far been excellent, and has seen them win over new fans at every show, adding to their ever-increasing fan base.
In early April 2007, the band's line-up was finally completed, with the addition of lead guitarist Steve Pullan to the ranks. The band is very excited at Steve's addition, and is looking forward to a long and successful future.
The augmentation of the line-up will see the band finally able to realise the true potential of their material, also adding to the excitement and energy of their live shows with an extra member.
With plenty of new songs in the works and touring plans in the pipeline, including the possibility of a trip to Europe, 2007 looks set to be an excellent year for Hallowed Point. If they're playing a gig near you, make sure you do not miss it!
