Ruptured Harmony is a five piece Brisbane-based thrash metal band with power/trad metal, death metal and grindcore influences. RH has supported touring bands such as Dungeon, Mortal Sin, Aeturnus Dominion and Oracle of the Void and has played with a veritable legion of local talent. With previous incarnations such as Bad Lieutenant and Dreamthief dating back as far as 1998, RH has many years of experience playing as a unit and has developed a tight and unique sound that mingles crushing, authentic thrash riffs, inhumanly fast blast beats, pouding bass and vocals that range from Araya style thrash shouts and Warrel Dane style power metal howls to Jeff Walker/Tomas Lindberg style rasps and old school guttural growls. RH's lyrics run the old style thrash metal gamut with topics ranging from 20th century pulp literature stories such as those of RE Howard, HP Lovecraft and Michael Moorcock to progressive politics, philosophy and even sardonic humour. Crowd favourites include Kreator/Slayer-ish thrash tune The Cimmerian, about RE Howard's Conan; Power/Thrash/Death Metal masterpiece The Outsider, about the HP Lovecraft story; and the Thrash/Grind tune Macca and the Boys, about a not-so-loveable conservative Aussie football yob. RH has covered old school classics by Slayer, Dio, Justice-era Metallica and Carcass and has become known for playing killer, heavy cover versions of classic metal songs.
