Soul Scrape was formed in early 2002 by Wade Watkins (lead guitar) and Josh Ralph (drums) after their former band Noxios Reign seperated. The other members of Noxious Reign (Mike and Pauly) later formed Brisbane heavy weights Beijing Tank. Beijing Tank was auditioning members when a bassist by the name of Dan Harris just wasn't cuttin the mustard, so Mike suggested he had a jam with Josh who's music style was more compatable. He then became Soul Scrape bassist. Dan was also singing (badly). Josh had met a couple of blokes by the name of Brett Jones who played guitar for a band called Unstable who had not long seperated. And Ged Stirling who played guitar with Aaron Franklin (founding member for State Of Integrity) who had also gone their seperate ways. Josh invited Brett to try and have a sing. Brett overcame the transition and become the Soul Scrape vocalist. Mid 2003 Soul Scrape recorded 6 songs and played their very first show at Shardins Corner. After a couple of gigs they realised that there was something missing. In November of 2003 they asked a mate of the band to play rhythm. Ged said yes and Soul Srape was complete. Soul Scrape recorded a 3 track demo in May 2004 which was circulating the Brisbane Metal scene which resulted in a growimg fan base. Mid 2004 Wade left Soul Scrape because of personel reasons. This was a big blow but Soul Scrape still played on searching for a lead guitarist. Months and months went by untill Febraury 2006 when Soul Scrape found a suitable guitarist by the name of Sam Town. August 2006 and Soul Scrape record their debut album March Through Darkness with Nic Carpenter from Core Studio's. It's not until June 9 2007 Soul Scrape launched the thrash/death debut. In that time Dan had let the band know he wanted to pursue other things and relocate overseas. Soul Scrape was lucky enough to have a good mate Luke (Silence Is Surrender) agree to fill in on bass until one was found. Soul Scrape played 2 shows after Dans departure before calling it a day due to personal differences between the remaining members.....................................................
...................Not long before Soul Scrape's demise Ged and Josh started a nothin but old school thrash project called Reaper. In November Soul Scrape was invited to record a track for an Australian metal compilation for Metal Aslym Records. With Soul Scrape no longer together, Reaper flew to Sydney in April 2008 and recorded Final Breath with Brett Jones on main vocals and bass........................................................
.................................It has almost now been a year since the break up of Soul Scrape, but due to itches, urges, time of and alot of talking we will re-emerge and give Brisbane a thrash/death metal band once more.
