LET THEM EAT GAK is a NEW BANDS showcase night that takes place at the RHYTHM FACTORY every Tuesday. Unlike many showcase nights, we try our hardest to keep each week's bands in a similar vain, so fans of one band will hopefully get off on most of the others too. However, we try to cover all genres that can loosely be termed alternative... post-rock, alt-rock, punk, indie, electro, experimental, even underground hip-hop... Entry is free with a flyer before 8.30pm and a mere £3 after that and we endeavour to have 5 bands between 8.30pm and 11.30pm. We want to give the punters value for money and hopefully at the same time give the bands a gig worth playing. Bands that impress get bumped up to a Thursday or Saturday support slot at Bored Youth on Prozac . And we have arguably the best MC on the scene, introducing the bands in his own dubious and slightly drunken way and thereby adding that extra sparkle to the evening, the infamous Sir Vis the Spoon... ably assisted by Scottish Johnny Clash, the most sussed electrindie-DJ in the business, and a host of occasional yet almost regular guests...If you want to play GAK please do NOT MSG or ADD us, send a CD & biog to us c/o the Rhythm Factory address below.
