About Me

The JK got together xmas 06 and wrote a load of songs then debuted in March 07 at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston, supporting The Moths. We wrote a second batch of songs that were harder and more aggressive then spent the rest of the year gigging. Our first demo was done in Jan 07 and had 3 tracks - Me Against, Exit and 97/98. We did some recording in our rehearsal studio and came up with another demo which we sent out to get some reviews, this had N/a, Knives, Me Against, and a (hidden track) live version of Breaksthehorse. Various combinations of these two recordings were made available at gigs. We demoed some newer songs (Rabbitfoot and Gas Oven) before re-working them slightly and recording them with an engineer called Oscar who runs Otter Records. Out of this we took Rabbitfoot and added it to a new version of Knives, a live version of Flight Risk and a short blast called Nostalgia which became our (sort of) Debut EP - known to us as The Stovepipe EP.
We played with some great bands, our favourites being; Cinemechanica (from Georgia in the US), Bear Claw (from Chicago in the US), One Unique Signal (UK), Shield Your Eyes (UK), 50foot Panda (UK) and the belly dancers in Reading. We were a three piece with bass/guitar vocals/drums but then changed to guitar/guitar vocal/drums, losing the bass and hitting the top end.
The various songs here are a mish-mash of live/studio and noise we were working on at the time of our split. The JK was the most fun we had but we finally went our seperate ways cos Ben's (Lord Bulberon) moving to Australia, (mr) Anthonys doing films and Nick is now doing Fulang Chang and i.
You can contact us via the friends below if you so wish because we wont be checking this page often if at all.
Thanks to everyone who helped us along the way.

Sounds Like: "Another band I stumbled upon on My Space whilst looking for bands to play the first Dead Billy night. For now I’d like to say something nice about Jesus Knives. Another band that seem to take a little from the stuff Steve Albini has done down the years (Big Black, Rapeman and Shellac). I recommend you start listening to Jesus Knives with the song ‘Knives’. It’s good. It’s fairly mellow - but it shows just the right level of aggression and noise to satisfy me.." Dead Billy

"Jesus Knives apparently got together with the sole purpose of creating some aggressive feedback noise, which has to be a more honest and admirable intention than wanting to make a career in the music industry by sucking any corporate cock that presents itself along the way. They shout a lot and batter their guitars, genuflecting at the altar of Fugazi (never a bad thing) and racing through two and a bit tracks in seven minutes. Pleasing to the ear!" Nightshift, Oxford

"Though they're myspace says they're from London, their biog says they hail from Jura on the outer hebrides- thats more likely, as a band this incendiary should be signed by now. They take lo-fi aggression and crank it sky-high, channelling it into relentless sawing riffs and ferocious vocals. Leaves you feeling like you're in a wind tunnel." PS, Channel 4
