Hotel Ukraine

Different punchline, same old joke!

About Me

Hello there, we are Hotel Ukraine; a wildly lo-fi rock n roll band from the big smoke. Vocalists Nick and Rosie sing quirky, chewed up melodies about late nights and early mornings to Anya's punchy guitar sounds and Sam-I-Am's unstoppable beats. Throw in a tambourine and it makes for an establishment you need to check out!
We formed in early 2005 with one broken amp, a guitar and something all too similar to bongos while rehearsing in (let's face it) a small cupboard. Demos on dictafones are thankfully in the past, though our DIY ethic remains unshakable, and these days the legend seems to have unfolded into something that's actually coming along nicely. So, give our tunes a listen, have a look around and enjoy your stay...

Sounds Like: The new sound of brit rock!

"A brilliantly off kilter and skewed helping of joyous indie pop... like a long lost classic just unearthed and unleashed upon a nation of unsuspecting fresh faced new indie kids"
www.ukmusicsearch.co.uk

"Their homemade sound coupled with their youthful energy make them a refreshingly sweet band whose honesty and openness is nothing short of endearing."

"Impressive cabaret silliness... an establishment you need to check out"

"Their sound is filled with chunky stop-start rhythms and charming vocal interplay which gives Hotel Ukraine a fresh, innocent edge...laden with sweet lines and catchy melodies"

"Sumptuous layers of chords and harmonies... The musicianship is carefully woven together, but with a perky atmosphere that gives off an almost live quality... Hotel Ukraine know how to deliver a knockout blow with their melodies, and they seem set to press on from here and move up in the world."
