The revolution is in our brain, in our vision

About Me

I'm a performing poet/songwriter, painter and journalist. If I compine all those tree, I could call myself an artist! After meeting David Lynch (The father of Twin Peaks) in November (2007), I realised that making art is making art, it doesn't matter what material you use, is it a painting or a song. Because back then I was a bit uncertain about me doing all these things, not concentrating into one, but for my luck Lynch said to me that I should tell people to go away if they lay doubt on me as a professional painter after learning to know me as a musician. He didn't mean that I should look down on people, he just meant that don't try to please people who don't understand, just make art! And that's what I do and I'll do.I've done several gigs since the year 2003 in Finland but also in USA, Brazil and Portugal. I have performed mainly by myself solo (with guitar or piano) but also with different musicians. Year 2004 I had my first official demo-releasing gig with my band at Yo-talo. I organized the concert by myself and I was happy to see how many people came. The stage was decorated by Maria Haapala in a Tori Amos-way. Then year 2005 I gathered together four soloartists: Laura Sippola, Sansa, me and Kati Salo to Yo-talo (Tampere, Finland) to perform solo. I wanted to see, if there were any interested people wanting to see womanartists playing solo at Yo-talo, which was decorated to look like a livingroom, but it was too early for that kind of thing in the city of Finpop/rock. Almost nobody came. The claddest thing was that Juha Juoni (From Welldone/Live Nation) and Ville Leinonen (Finnish artist) were there. After that I have decided to permorf mainly solo, because then I can go everywhere at any time. It's like writers job. I have supported artists like Kauko Röyhkä, Jarkko Martikainen, Pelle Miljoona, Laura Sippola, Sansa and Ville. At the moment I'm studying Communication management at the Master program of Baltic Film and Media school and music at the University of Tallinn. I already got a bachelor degree from the school of Art and Media, Tampere (Finland). In the end of august I'll do my first album including 8-12 songs. So I keep myself busy performing activily, doing my school and making songs, paintings and workings as a journalist. But that is what I love. When I was a teenager, I had a band called Woozy. Nowadays it doens't exist any longer. Me and my good friend Kati Salo (nowadays a singer/songwriter) wrote songs to the band. I have written many, many, many songs and lyrics even more. I sing, play piano and guitar. I'd like to do it my way. Year 2004 I made my first officional demo (after the demo we made with Woozy) called Minuuden Morsian (includes 5 of my songs). I have only one copy left which is good because the CD is improper to sell. Then year 2005 I wanted to record more of my songs. I asked around if there were any musicians interested doing a new demo with me. Heikki Malmberg from Diablo and Dame offered to play with me. That is how my demo Oma (includes 3 of my songs: Puhua sinun kanssa, Cooke city& Hyvää huomenta) was born. Mikko Pykäri from Regina recorded and mixed the CD. Also Tuomaa Vahtera helped me out as a recorder. Then summer 2005 Ville Leinonen (Finnish artist) accepted to produce my music. We made a single called Huuma (includes two of my songs: Hän on luonasi & Huuma) in collaboration with Sami Sänpäkkilä. Ville was the producer. I did record 3 of my songs: Jäähyväiset, Karavaani & Kuljen tien laitaa with Sami Nissinen (plays guitar in Marian valinta & Puumaja) but our collaboration ended after that. Maybe we do some songs together in the future, I don't know, but not know. In the beginning of the year 2007 I recorded Jos menet niin itken and Vihollinen with Jarno Alho (Playes guitar in Sister flo). He was only the recorder in this project. I did record La Linea and Yksin sydän särkyy as well but thay are not ready - yet!The music media like Rumba, Soundi, www.desibeli.net and www.noise.fi have payed attension for my work as a poet/songwriter. Almost all of them have considered me as a potentional songwriter. Also other newspapers like Pohjolan Sanomat, Lapin Kansa, Torniolainen and Tamperelainen have written about me. At the moment I'm working on the songs for my first album. It's ready next year! The songs will be in Finnish and English also! I have also started to paint for my first exhibition which was an idea of my friend Tiina Lappalainen who have played sax in my band.. Let's see what it will turn out - something really interesting!

Sounds Like: My music is breathing and living all the time like human itself. It is a compination of striking lyrics about our lives in visual revolution and tears of sadness. I'm afraid that the humanity will dissapear. In my music I aim at truthfulness ja emotionalism. I want to make skilful lyrics and songs and keep up the freedom of creativity in the arrangements.
