PLAYING ON THE SILVER BEACH
A norwegian band. Not one of those straight forward ones, but a sunny screaming, detouring picnic kind of rock band. Nice guys, with woodlike qualities. Floating, resonating, living, patterned and slow growing.
From the day we met each other a rubber band and a plant singin has been the outcome. Suprisingly, beautiful and frustrating.
We met a few years ago at a bar in Oslo. It was raining. We were noone. Spoke for two hours, went up to Crosby. Played with him for a while and left. Someone said a word. Life-long betrayal/heartfelt passion.
Went to Germany later that autumn. In a pink van filled up with old books and records. We never focused. We never lied.
Recorded our first songs in the attic when we got home; Crosby, Pills and Hash. Sold five copies, the rest was stolen by a junkie thinking it was some kind of medicine.
COLLECTING SUNSHINE IN A BOX
A person with an extraordinary single mental skill but an otherwise unexceptional intellect, may be described simply as a SAVANT, without qualifier, although savant is also frequently used figuratively to mean a person of learning, especially one of great knowledge in a particular subject, without regard to the person's overall intellect.
