«This is the sound of late nights roaming the streets and early mornings dancing on the rooftops. This is the sound of sophisticated ravage and dancing hordes»
Lukas Kasha is one of the most exciting and uplifting bands to come out of the Norwegian rock scene in years. With little regard for genres and rules, the six-piece moulds it's catchy, energetic rock from a well of sources, being just as likely to dive into stabbing guitar rock as making new romantics soundscapes and melodies from a time when pop was still art. Layering guitars, synth and beats they create a rich and distinct sound with a never resting drive.
Lukas Kasha rocketed out of the Norwegian underground with the hit single «Love Abuse» from their critically acclaimed debut album «Animated People's Republic», spending more than four months on hot rotation on Norwegian radio. The song will also be featured on EA's FIFA 2008 football game to be released this fall.
But it's when seeing Lukas Kasha live their pulsating energy really hits you. Their powerful presence and sheer playfulness often causes band and audience to end up as one dancing, collective whole.
The last couple of years the band has been touring extensively in Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and England, playing gigs and festivals like the Popkomm festival, the Eurosonic festival, Liverpool Music Week, the Reeperbahn festival, Øyafestivalen, the Marquee Club in London and the IUSY-festival in Alicante, to name a few.
Summer and autumn '06 Lukas Kasha recorded their debut album "Animated People's Republic". The album was released in Norway 29th of January and got massive radio listings. Lukas Kasha are currently rehearsing new songs, working with different video projects and touring.
