Anything by Carl Hiaasen, James Patterson, Steve Hamilton, Jim Harrison, Jack Kerouac, and one of my alltime faves is a satire written in the early 70's by satirist Alan Sherman, "Rape Of The Ape". It's a satirical look at the sex revolution in America. Frank Zappa's autobiography, "The Real Frank Zappa Book" which I highly recommend as required reading. Oscar peterson's autobiography is also a great read...
All the great jazz artists deceased and still with us (like Roy Haynes) who have, and continue to perpetuate great music that stands the test of time in spite of the troubled and fickled "entertainment economy" the commercial music business run mostly by greedy corporation executives only interested in huge profits.
