Food Network junkie. Huge fan of the house band on American Idol...tight, baby, tight!!!! Loved SNL during the Chris Farley days and In Living Color. And, if anyone remembers the late 80's show with David Sanborn called "Sunday Night," or "Night Music" you know what I'm talking about. Real jazz and fusion on Network TV...what a concept. I wish they'd bring that show back.
Downbeat
Musicians who have attained a high level of performance. One of them is Steve Gadd. I'd love to meet my favorite drummer of all time. I did see a clinic of his in '05, but it would be fun to hang out with him or take a lesson. Besides playing on most everything, he really helped shape and define a whole musical movement back in the mid to late '70's in the New York City area. His contributions to bands like Stuff, The Brecker Brothers, Tom Scott, Bob James, among countless others have inspired and comforted me over the years like a favorite easy chair. It's not really easy to explain, but it's the kind of music that makes you feel like you are right there at the recording session or watching these awesome cats perform at the Blue Note, Sweet Basil, Mikell's or other happening NYC musical landmarks...at least they were happening when I lived there. Steve Gadd is a drummer of unequaled style, taste, technique, and grace.
