About Me

What are people saying about deadCENTER? "Bar none. the best film festival in Oklahoma." Chris Gore, Founder-FILM THREAT"deadCENTER 2007 was, hands-down, the most fun I’ve had a film festival. There have been great (well, good) Sundances, and some truly memorable SXSW experiences, but deadCENTER is the whole package: it’s well-organized, features a diverse and interesting array of films, easy access to everything, and everyone involved that I met was helpful and passionate about what they were doing. Further, they were all a hell of a lot of fun." Pete Vonder Haar- Contributing Editor FILM THREAT
..deadCENTER Film Festival
The deadCENTER Film Festival, now in its eighth year, was founded in 2001. The ongoing mission of the festival is to promote independent film arts. As a result, the festival attracts many filmmakers and festival attendees from around the nation who participate in an educational and dynamic forum. Designed to inspire growth in the local film industry and energize visiting film professionals, the deadCENTER Film Festival will continue to encourage the film arts through screenings, discussions, competition, special events, panels, and focused programming.
Why the name deadCENTER?
The name "deadCENTER" refers to the geographical location of Oklahoma City within the continental United States. Now that we've moved downtown...we're at the center of everything!
This year's festival will occur June 11-15, 2008 in downtown Oklahoma City. Over 100 films will be shown at eight different screening locations, including the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art, the IAO Gallery, Harkins Bricktown Cinema, Kerr Park, and the downtown Oklahoma City Library. A myriad of Oklahoma films will be shown, as well many other films from various locations around the globe. "Kid's Fest" and "Apple Pie Cinema" will allow fun for the whole family, while "Midnight Shorts" will showcase edgy, alternative films. Interested? Email us for ticket information at [email protected] or message us here on myspace.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who love to laugh, cry, scream, cringe, jump, cheer, give advice, turn your cell phone off, yell at a giant screen, feel inspired, be grossed out, and eat popcorn... all while sitting in a movie theater.

Are you kidding me?
