City Arts Center offers progressive and innovative art exhibits year-round in the Eleanor Kirkpatrick Gallery with free admission to the public.

The Circle Gallery exhibits artists who utilize experimental and new media which create multi-sensory installation exhibits.

The Bridge Gallery offers exhibit space for community artists and groups to exhibit their work.

A variety of classes and workshops for adults and children are offered six days a week in the art of painting, pottery, weaving and more. Throughout the year City Arts Center enriches the lives of tens of thousands of people, young and old...from the budding artists to the seasoned creators, many of whom might not otherwise receive this exposure.

Under the Influence 2

April 25-May 24, 2008

Opening Artist Reception | April 25th| 6:00-10:00

Featuring live performances by Justin Witte, Johnathan Youngblood, Aaron Leforce with Dakota Wolf and Garistotle with Dylan & Amanda Bradway.

Under the Influence 2 is a multi-sensory exhibit celebrating the synergy created between music and visual art.
Invited visual artists from varied backgrounds and artistic styles will create new works of art influenced by a particular musical selection or song of their choice. Patrons will have the unique opportunity to view the art worrk while listening to music highlighted in this exhibit.

Visual artists included in the exhibit are: Clinton Dean, Anji Bryner, Sharla Wiser, Cathy Deuschle, Romy Owens, Diane Salamon, Dylan and Amanda Bradway, Molly O’Connor, Stephanie Ruggles Winter, Alyson Atchinson, Josh Buss, Chad Mount, Shannon Crider, Dakota Wolf, Amanda Dyer, Laura Sullivan, Annalisa Campbell, Kyle Golding, Sarah Leis, Raechel Brown, Jordan Snyder, Geoff Krawczyk, Josh Heilaman and Patrick Corey.

Musicians included in the exhibit are: Kunek, Simplton, Sugar Free Allstars, Leon Russell, Crocodile, Justin Witte, Garistotle, Sunshine Hahn, Ali Harter, the fingerpuppets, The Voice Of, Chase Spivey, Dan McPherson, Aaron Leforce, Student Film, Derek Doublin, Buffalofitz, Star Crash Speedway, Cecada, El Paso Hot Button, Jesse Cohen, Radio Deception, Esthing and Johnathan Youngblood.

Circle Gallery:
Creation is An Act of Destruction
by Kjelshus HC with a live performance by The Flood

April 25-May 24, 2008

Opening Artist Reception | April 25th| 6:00-10:00
(live performance begins around 7:30 pm)

Kjelshus HC will create clay based sculptures based on his feeling and energy that he receives from the live audience and performance from the live music. Local film maker, Webster Polk, will document the art experience. The artwork created by Kjelshus HC and the documentary by Webster Polk will remain on exhibit in the Circle Gallery though May 24th.
