Slip, wiggle, and slide

About Me

Born out of a love for American roots music, punk rock ethos, a serendipidous rencontre, and a mutual disdain for the state of popular music, two young men from the mountains of Colorado set out to revive the soul of American rock and roll. Through the channels of blues, distortion and sweat, these two gents have found something that trancends the genres of today to produce soulful, honest music that not only reminds us of the best and underappreciated of years past, but are full of suprises that'll get that ass a shakin'!.................................................... .........................................................
"Corn and Oil" is American Relay's self produced full length LP released June 23rd of 2007 and will be for sale at all future shows and soon on the interweb. Engineered by Clark Hagan (Chet Atkins) and Brett Stuart (Backstreet Boys, Steven Seagal, SNAP) Corn and Oil displays the harmony of analog and digital gear coming into mix with American Relay's throw back sound.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
American Relay plays with lots of other cool bands too: check out our dates and top friends!

Sounds Like: "American Relay, Corn & Oil (Self-released). Nick Sullivan and Alex Hebert's two-man blues assault is thick as Quaker State and has the muscle of a '68 Pontiac GTO. This souped-up hot rod is screaming down the highway with some fuel-injected fuzzy Delta blues under the hood. Jump in and take a ride." — Jon Solomon - Westword, Denver, 2007~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...a two-man tsunami of distorted Delta blues, '60s British R&B and lead-footed garage rock that's not afraid to bow down before Led Zeppelin." Jason Heller - Westword, Denver, 2006 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" Imagine a whiskey-fueled bar brawl between the late R.L. Burnside, Hank III and Deadboy & the Elephantmen's Dax Riggs and you'll see American Relay somewhere in there, throwing forceful punches but also holding up those who came before them with thankful admiration." - Ricardo Baca - Denver Post, 2007
