Life without music is said to be similar to a journey across a desert without water. Glenn Muhaw ; is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who performs acoustic and electric. Stirring up the old styles of Delta Blues, Folk, Alternative and Rock. Breaking down the structures of songwriting into a new Genera. MUHAW has performed on KPCW 91.9 FM in Park City, Utah; with Randy Barton, Mountain Town Stages, The Sidecar, The Star Bar, Bistro 412, Club Suede and The 2005 Uncle Uncanny Summer Session in Soapstone Basin , UT. Glenn also contributed to the worship team at Mountain Life Christian Evangelical Free Church in Park City, UT.
Glenn Muhaw once asked his Father, "What does Muhaw mean?" His Father, a Metallurgical Engineer, claims the name comes from your Russian Grandfather. My Dad said it is a Polish name; Mucha (Fly)." "I never met my Grandfather and my Father sadly never payed any respects because my Russian Grandfather who worked in the restaurant business and bars died from alcoholism. Grandfather Muhaw died as a skidrow bumb when Glenn's Father was 16. Muhaw is quite a mix being half Irish, quarter Russian and a quarter Polish. Speaking of Irish, Glenn's Grandfather Hare was an electrician and part time banjo player in Bellfast Ireland. Grandfather Hare played in a band for extra money in hopes to come to America. Well he did just that and entered Ellis Island. Glenn's Grandmother later followed. Muhaw has written several additional unrecorded songs; "Stupor Down At The Crossroads", which is about one mistake and you could be dead. When the fire meets the substance. It's lead us down to the crossroads. One more mistake you can lose it all. In another song, "Our Wheels Are Not Simple", there's a ripping bottle neck guitar solo throughout the song. With the lyrics, rollin on these wheels, I'm gonna take it slow, I'm gonna take a ride , I'm gonna let it rhyme. In addition to these lyrics, THE LORD will ring with echoes’'. This is just some examples of what Glenn Muhaw is soul searching for; within himself and for listeners who may follow.
At age 14, Glenn learned to play his brother Neil's Guild 12 string. Neil Muhaw 16 was hit by a car and later passed away in August, 1980. As painful that was, Frank and Nancy Muhaw re-purchased Neil's 1970 (something?) Fender Strat, which was sold to Johnny Ladar of "The Rails" who later sold it back to Mr. and Mrs. Muhaw for Glenn. Glenn Muhaw graduated high school at Montville Township N.J. in 1985. From 1984-1985, Glenn was the guitar player for a High-School cover band "Active Culture"-Steve Moran- vocals, Rick Yorn- Drums ( The brother of Pete Yorn ) & Dave Boyer-Bass. Glenn was the lead guitarist for "East is East" in 1991-1992. Brian Nolan- vocals, Ken Trimmer-Drums & Don Carlucci-Bass. After playing 3 shows to mostly NJIT students & @ Live Tonight in Hoboken NJ, East is East folded around 1993 due to the other member’s full-time jobs & lack of interest. Glenn received a B.A. in Media Arts in 1992 from Jersey City State University and freelanced in the film & video industry for studios' known as "Power Play Records" in Hoboken NJ - "The Uncle Floyd Show", CNBC in Ft. Lee NJ-"Steals & Deals", CTN & Comcast Cablevision in Trenton NJ. In 1992-2002 Glenn Muhaw lived in Point Pleasant N.J., where he operated & owned "Seabreeze Painting". Glenn played venues in Asbury Park NJ such as The Stone Pony, The Hitch 'N' Rail & The Java Hut in Belmar. In 2000 Glenn Muhaw met The Java Hut owner Dale and recorded "Crazy Year", "Goddess Adonis", "Sending Signals", "Fourth of July", "Sexy Sarah" and "Low".
