INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SPECIALIST IN ALBUM AND BOOK COVER DESIGN, GOTHIC AND ABSTRACT DIGI AND PHOTO ART, LIVE MUSIC AND STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHER, MUSIC JOURNALIST & PROMOTER, PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR & SONIC EXPLORER are just some of the many titles and talents of Earth-Light founder Dave J. Cable.
Earth-Light Studios has come a long way in the world of photography, art and design since being formed in March 2006. Whether it is through conducting events as part of his paranormal investigation team Extreme Paranormal, assisting with and conducting historical research, working on publications, providing design and art solutions and even recording his own music, E-L artist and founder Dave J. Cable is definitely a creative mind.
After two years in the music business and having provided well over 50 reviews he made the decision to quit music journalism at the start of the year in favour of producing art forms and supplying photographic and design solutions. However renewed interest came recently and he has joined forces with Bristol Bands.com as photographer, promoter and reviewer, helping to promote the very best in local music.
He is the co-owner, historian, location photographer and webmaster of the Extreme Paranormal team in Bath, UK, founded in October 2006. They have conducted many events in the past as part of another group having, most notably a 6 month residency at the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham, conducting public events. It was during this time that he conducted extensive research of the location and produced his self penned database entitled The Justice System. His 7 page historical/virtual tour article regarding the location would later appear in issue 3 of Paranormal Magazine.
In October 2005 he took part in producing film stills from an advertising shoot for Paranormal Magazine. It was filmed by Ian Cash (AKA Wigan) of Antix/Productions & Most Haunted.
The team then went on to release their first DVD recorded live at St James Theatre in Long Eaton, Nottingham. This was released through issue 4 of Paranormal Magazine, which was then endorsed by Antix Productions of Most Haunted fame.
The team now consists of 10 members and we continue to investigate some of the most prestigious sites throughout the UK. Noted for our honest reporting, we are a non-profit group of great friends that conduct events purely as a hobby, not at a professional level.
After a couple of months teaching himself the finer points of photography he entered his first competition at Woodchester Mansion, receiving first prize in the amateur section, from internationally renowned photographer Paul Caffell. A few months later he entered the professional world and became the resident photographer for Paranormal Magazine. This magazine showcased some of his architectural/atmospheric photographic work, but it also gave him the chance to test his skills in film stills photography at a professional level.
He is also renowned for his concert photography and has produced imagery from some top musical luminaries from Texas through to Rick Wakeman - from the Sugababes through to Sparks. Most recently some live shots of Amy Wadge appeared on her official website and a rather fruitful Ashton Court Music Festival in the summer of 2006 saw some work being used by the PR & Management team of mega rock band Simple Minds in various on and offline publications.
Having a natural fondness of art and photographic imagery, we set up Earth-Light Studios in March 2006 in an attempt to release a unique type of photo-art form fusing nature, art and a little spirit. This rapidly developed into other ideas and he now creates under various pseudonyms depending on the style, purpose and direction of the work. The photo gallery here at Myspace is constantly being updated with new ideas. Please keep checking or subscribe to the blog to be kept informed.
Interest in his own spiritual art reached new heights when his work was accepted in September 2006 alongside 30 other artists and poets globally to appear in a book in respect of internationally renowned musician and songwriter Kate Bush. This book has been made available through various sources including Amazon but the initial print run has now sold out.
In November 2006 another major breakthrough occurred which saw him produce the next album cover artwork for Canadian band Dream Aria. This was the turning point for Earth-Light Studios, where we are now producing artwork at a professional level.
Since then we have been producing artwork for books and albums and we are currently tied up in photographic, journalistic and other professional artistic projects. We would also like to introduce you to the work of fellow Earth-Light Co-Director and artist Al Bartlett and the work of Kieron Butler, all to be found in my top friends list. Kieron also runs the Ancient Ram Inn Website and Myspace page. He is also the co-owner of Extreme Paranormal.
In the last year alone I have appeared in the Sunday Express, The Evening Post and The Bath Observer amongst others. Having come runner up in my second photo competition at Arnos Vale Cemetery in October 2006 mine and others work will be on display in the foyer of the @ Centre in Bristol from January 2007.
