DJ from Rennes, now in Paris, I've been making music for about 10 years now. The first productions were released 5 years ago, under the name of "Duplex" with a friend of mine. I met electronic music in late 80's, with the "French kiss" by Lil' louis, "Rock to the beat", and also artists like Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre.
I started making house tracks for the dancefloor, also a remix from Daft Punk's Aerodynamic track. I didn't want to lock in dancefloor music, so I kept on making my musical researches, and composed "ReAlive", a deeper, softer and more melancolic house track.
In 2002, I discovered the Nu Skool Break wave, coming from the UK, with artists like Hybrid, Adam Freeland, Plump Djs, and labels such as Finger Lickin, Distinctive Records & Marine Parade. For my first breakbeat track, I remixed Hybrid's "Blackout" track in 2004, which had a very warm welcome in the nu skool break community, especially in the UK forums.
Having various origins, this style enables to include and mix many influences,
and I'm trying to do away with musical borders. So, my tracks will often sound totally different : Guns n' Bass is a jazzy-funky breakbeat tune; Energizer is a mix between House / Electro and Nu Skool Break, especially with the rhythm, alternating break beat and 4-to-the-floor...
In May 2007, I signed on Krispy Beatz Recordings, thanks to its manager, DJ Scarletti, with the very popular remix I made of Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" song, a powerful tune which sounds similar to Hybrid (I've been veeerrry influenced by theses guys ^^). And now, the future is on... :p
"A track must give people emotions, pictures, feelings. A track must have its own soul" That's my leitmotiv ! =¬_¬=
