HoBöLLy

HoböLLy is a concept that was started back in 2003 by Jü (voice, guitar, piano, lyrics) and Vitalie (voice, guitar, lyrics), and consists in creating using basic possibilities. HoböLLy is an expression derived from the english word "hobo". The band evolves in 2005 with ToMMy's arrival, and the addition of his own special touch to the songs' arrangements and programming; he also plays keyboards and guitars. In the meantime, Jü is busy teaching herself other instruments, such as the xylophone or the melodica... In 2006, HoböLLy becomes a duet between Jü and ToMMY. They start using sounds from games and new instruments in order to sparkle interest in « cheap » melodies and the sounds from objects we use in everyday life. The band uses electronic effects as well, and that's how HoBöLLy is best described, funny and abstract at once, just like the hazy memories from a dream. Jü and ToMMY each have already separately played in different music projects (metal, postrock, rock, triphop), which means they can introduce many different influences in their songs, modifying them according to their mood during each performance. The band is treading experimental territory, yet they still keep a taste for pretty pop rock and depressing melodies.
