So,... I've been artistically inclined since as far back as I can recall.
Tattooing came about after one of my dearest family started talking about getting her first tattoo. She said she wished I could do the tattoo for her. Well, long story short, one thing led to another and before I knew it... here we are!
I've been busily tattooing for 10 solid years now.
I love doing all forms of tattoo art and images, and don't feel anything is out of the question, or impossible. I'm very versatile.
In general, I look at each section of the body as a whole unit and strongly recommend that my clients do the same. For instance, instead of simply thinking of the back or arm, in terms of lots of little tattoos that "hopefully" connect in a fluid manner, I encourage folks who might view the arm as a sleeve; a whole, inter-connected design, or the back; the best flat panel the body has, as having tremendous potential for an absolutely stunnning large piece.
I love working with small, and intricate designs, I excell at creating large, form-fitting, intergrated tattoos. I enjoy playing with both heavily-detailed as well as free-flowing tattoo imagery, in color, and in "black and gray", with bold lines or with no lines, and everything in between.
I say confidently, I can do most anything!
It has been the most amazing experience, and a powerful service to be a part of.
Truly, it is a great honor to do what I get to do. It is something I do not take for granted!
Tattooing is a very intimate and powerful (and at times, excruciating) process, and I honor that with the intention to create a very sacred and safe space in which to perform the tattoo proceedure.
The goal being to help each person feel as comfortable and at ease as possible.
The Sacred Fire Tattoos studio is a tranquil and relaxing environment, as well as being an exceptionally clean tattoo studio.
The studio is in the Thistle and Thorn Plaza, right on main street in Cornville (think Sacred Hopi Corn Maiden...) Arizona, centrally located, only about a 15 minute drive from the towns of Sedona, Cottonwood and Jerome.
Getting there is part of the beautiful journey, as you'll pass through everything from the dry, high-desert to the Verde Valley's prime vineyard belt alongside the meandering Oak Creek.
I always encourage people to put a lot of careful thought and contemplation into their choice of tattoos, as well as their choice of studios/artists.
Do some research, put positive intention into the decision, and consider that whatever tattoo is chosen, it is with you till this body falls away. Which is more than can be said for most marriages, cars, houses, jewelry etc.
I always say a tattoo is one of the biggest commitments you can make in this life, so put some energy into it.
Sacred Fire Tattoos is definitely not a typical studio, where a person walks in, picks a design off the wall and walks out a short while later with an average, generic tattoo.
Here, the clients are encouraged to be an active factor in the creation of their tattoos! Usually I'll consult with a client (in person or online), discussing their ideas and intentions for their tattoo. Together we'll formulate a concept and create a customized image to suit the individual. Sometimes folks will provide me with images. Other times I create entirely original works of art.
Operating at a high level of proficiency for a number of years has brought me regular clients from all over this beautiful little planet; I have clients who travel from as far away as London, Scotland, Canada, Germany and Australia (not to mention from all over America) to get work done here.
I do try to make visiting Sacred Fire Tattoos enticing, by picking awesome locations to set up shop!
Cornville and Sedona Arizona are some of the most powerful areas on earth; considered an ancient Native American sacred zone, very magical, very beautiful too!
Before Cornville, I operated Sacred Fire Tattoos for 7 years in the heart of beautiful "downtown" Sedona, and prior to my time in Sedona, Sacred Fire Tattoos was serving folks in the British Virgin Islands (just off Main Street in Road Town, Tortola), another absolutely gorgeous locale.
