Unlike a lot of musicians, I cannot say that I have been involved in music my whole life or singing since I was 2! That would simply be untrue. What I can say is that I have loved music and singing my WHOLE life! I have wanted to sing and be a country music artist since I was a little girl, however, I did not pursue my music dream early on. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I would make up songs and be singing them all the time. I, being the youngest of four, always got told to "shut-up" by my older siblings!! When I was 12 years old, I entered a beauty pageant in which you had to have a talent. Well, I picked singing as my talent! Ha! My mother told me, after I had won, that I had many talents, but singing was NOT one of them!!! So, for the next 10 years, I did nothing that involved music!! I played all sorts of sports and rode horses.
Then, I married and had the opportunity to sing with my husbands family, who sang gospel music and had being doing so for some 20 + years. I also sang in church and would sing duets with my husband. After we divorced, I continued to sing and do karaoke! Finally, I was able to form a band and thus, begin a lifelong dream! Some have told me that I am too old; however, I love music and everything about it! I love to see the crowd having a good time and enjoying my music! It is so humbling to me, when someone approaches me and tells me that they really enjoyed the music or that I have a great voice! I will continue to follow this dream and wherever it sees fit to take me. I have met some amazing people and made lasting friendships. Hopefully, I will meet you too, somewhere down the road!
