Alan and Stevie Nimmo are two of the most exciting, young, modern blues guitarists on the European circuit. Drawing their influences from the blues boom of the 1960s, they learned their trade by listening to such greats as Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac and John Mayalls Bluesbreakers.
The Nimmo Brothers emerged as a band from the Blackwater Blues band in the late 1990s, with a first album (Moving On) that yielded a number of strong tracks - many of which are still requested by fans today. Signed by Armadillo Music following the Moving On album, the brothers combine a passion for live performance and showmanship with a desire to write good songs. "Coming Your Way", the first release on their new label, catapulted them to the forefront of the European blues scene, with top billing at many of the European festivals and support slots for many of the blues greats.
In 2003 it was time for a change of pace and the brothers achieved this by recording their first acoustic album "New Moon over Memphis". A beautiful and highly emotional recording which focused on the incredible vocal and song writing talents of Stevie and Alan. When they first showcased this new material at the Low County Blues Bash in Charleston, South Carolina they were given two consecutive standing ovations by a public genuinely moved by the power and honesty of the songs they had just heard. One member of the audience, US blues artist Debbie Davis, immediately invited the guys to join her on stage that night at her own show.
2005 saw the brothers concentrate on solo projects (Alan also happens to be one of the most sought after blues drummers in the UK), but they are currently completing a new studio album (at the famous Park Lane studios in Glasgow) for release in early 2007. Insiders say this is going to be their strongest yet, so watch this space ........and here it is !! Available now! Enjoy !!
