The Rob Donnelly Band

Blues Band UK

About Me

English Blues Band originally formed in 1995, playing both original material coupled with an extensive set of blues standards. The first album "Dirtfile" was recorded in 1997 and featured Ashley Reaks, Paul Middleton, Phil Middleton, Frank Mizen, Buck Mosey, Pete Brayshaw and Simon Carlton. By the time we recorded the second album "No Unnecesary Grooving In Here Please" in 2000 the band was cut down to a 4 piece, putting Frank Mizen on bass and incorporating the talents of Drummer Rob Hirons. It was at this time when the band started to experiment with different genres of music, using horn sections, banjos, steel drums hit with shoes, and anything else we could get our hands on. The band has undergone many personnel changes over the years but settled properly in mid 2004 when the current line up was formed and we recorded our third album "Boogie In the Voodoo Lounge" which featured the amazing talents of Dan Burnett, as well as the producing skills of the fabulous Mizens. We now had real direction and decided to concentrate on being a blues band. In summer 2005 we recorded two library albums for Boosey Media and embarked on a trip to The States, where we played at Avila Beach Beer & Blues Festival, along with various bars on the Central Coast. Who knows what the future will bring ???
