A solid reputation and loyal following has put him at the forefront of the South African dance scene, spinning alongside global legends such as Erick Morillo, Basement Jaxx, Mylo, Audio Bullies, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Sonique, and even Jamiroquai! Dean has also featured on most major international tours of SA, such as Pacha, Gatecrasher, Renaissance and Ministry of Sound. One of the hardest working players in the dance scene today - surely it will not be long before the FUEL sparks interest globally?!
Dean FUEL's distinctive musical style is versatile, and uniquely his own - fusing an intercontinental blend of house, funk, tech, electro and progressive - the FUEL adds that something special, igniting all dance floors and keeping them burning with his passion and infectious energy delivered through the turntables €“ all attitude.
Born into a family where music was not only a passion but a way of life, Dean took to the world of music from an early age. Drawing on a diverse musical background, driven by inspirational live-sets from greats including Carl Cox, Sasha & Digweed, and Jeff Mills - he nurtured an overwhelming desire to be a DJ.
Dean took his natural flair for mixing and honed his abilities as a creative DJ and producer €“ supported by a truly formidable record collection, and a studio full of hi-tech €˜toys€™. His raw talent, undeniable passion and charismatic energy led to residencies at all the top spots in Cape Town, including Rhodes House, The Fez, Jet Lounge, Baseline, Sutra, and currently now at Opium.
2006 has been a great year for Dean, having released the Opium Album to critical acclaim, as well as featuring 2 tracks produced by the man himself on prominent Dance compilations €“ both gaining airplay on national radio! Upcoming projects include being selected to mix the first Ministry of Sound Sessions Album for the South African market, as well as many more slamming tunes fresh from his studio.
