*PERSONAL*Shannon Wilkinson, born and raised in Durban. Moved to the Mother City 3 years ago following my one and only dream *MUSIC*, I live and thrive off my intuition,and believe in guidance from a Greater Devine, which to me is God.I have a great interest in human nature, and enjoy hearing about other peoples' lives and how they work their world.I am an animal lover, and have a cat named Calvin-his hometown being Durban to. I get a kick out of not knowing what tomorrow may bring, I work well under pressure and basically go into reverse when i have no challenge ahead of me. I thrive on good meaningful conversation. My friends are my life and family, Im always a phone call away, and i always understand. The reason i am a dj is for the obvious love for music, I believe i have been guided in this direction for many reason, One of them being the amount of people i meet developing into amazing , real friendships.Good people fulfill me and i hope i fulfill them. My journey in the music world has lead me to this point in my life where i look around me with a smile and thank God for what my life has become. Djing i believe is my stepping stone to greater things musically, i have soooooo many ideas and avenues i want to take in this field,singing is my number one love , so eventually when i take that one big step later on, it will be onto the stage that i will be singing on for the first time. I am living my dream, and as difficult as ones situation may seem, and as bizarre as it may seem to be free of it, i do believe in following your dreams,and i do believe it all works out, we were all blessed with a gift right? every single one of us...so dont go against the grain of life..flow with it, and follow your dreams!*PROFESSIONAL*Shannon is a club Dj, co hosts her own radio show on Muthafm(www.muthafm.com) , as well as being one of 5fms' Deckalicious Djs'.
In the true sense of a novel, "it was a cold winters day" at Caprice in Cape Town 2005 when Shannon played her first set and began her journey in the music world. Still fairly new on the scene Shannon has played at events such as H20(jhb 2007), MCQP (2005/2006), All woman Dj tour (Puma 2005,2006), Global Breakthrough Tour (2007),she has been a guest dj on the 5fms vinyl frontier , featured in the SL magazine for GUESS clothing along side DJs and performers from Cape Town, Shaun Duvet, Dean Fuel, Goldfish(Dom & Dave), and Nick Matthews(Iridium Project & Coda), and has been mentioned as an up and coming Dj to look out for in , Cosmopolitan, Cape etc and Heat Magazine.
Shannon plays and has played in clubs such as - Opium(residency),Kalahari klik, Bang Bang Club, Caprice, HQ, Chrome, Rhodes House, Miam Miam, Sliver, Kudata(ct), Sobar, Atmosphere, Mink.
In Johannesburg: Groove Cafe, Natural Groove, Sudada, Kudata, The Palms.
In Durban: Reform Club, Pop art and Vacca Matta (Sunday sessions). East London-Numbers, P.E- 52, Knysna-Crimson, Bethlehem-Nocturnal,Witbank,Jefereys Bay,Rustenburg, and internationally-Botswana-Fashion lounge.
She has just released a Cd called KISSFM, double disc, along side Lady Lea, go check it out.
