Maximum Rocknroll "Free Shit!" demo Review
Total PIST-styled punk rock here with a hint of Fat Wreck influence too (mainly in the guitar flourishes and sound). The rhythm section marches on and the vocals bark out in an aggressive sing-along fashion. The vocals are my favorite part of the recording. I kinda wish that they included lyrics because these guys are angry about something but I can't figure out what's made them so mad. I can say they're most definitely influenced by Pabst Blue Ribbon as a PBR bottle is the most prominent item on the back cover. For fans of THE PIST and PBR?

www.punkrockreview.org "Free Shit!" demo Review
Tough guy hardcore is the brand that Sick Sick Sick has always played, and their newest effort “Free Shit” is no exception. Heavy on the breakdowns, Sick Sick Sick offers up just under 12 minutes of chugga-chugga hardcore. Unlike a lot of today’s Hardcore you find some variation from song to song, but that’s what I’ve come to expect from Sick Sick Sick. I found this to be a very enjoyable CD that actually had a decent amount of lasting value. The word self prefaces almost everything about this CD. It isn’t really a produced CD or even titled. This CD is a mix of songs that Sick Sick Sick self-produced & put onto a disc that they put some of their recent tracks on and are selling for $1 to cover shipping. It has been self-released for a few weeks now, with the band not making a penny off it. They just hand it out to everyone at shows, and let you download tons of their music off of their website. That's a lot of hard work for seven songs that are on this CD. Luckily for the band, the hard work has paid off. There are few bands out there that sound as good as Sick Sick Sick and continue to press on not worrying about making a dime. I love every element of this band, their hardcore street sound, their passion for what they do, and their relentless pursuit of staying true to their punk rock roots. Unlike most dollar menu items, this $1 CD will not leave you burping up grease and curse you with heart burn, wishing that you never spent your buck.

Maximum Rocknroll "The Devil Is Real" demo Review
Sick Sick Sick play the kind of punk that I remember seeing a lot of in the late '80s. Fast and mean, with a guitar solo or a double bass beat to mix up the song - but those elements aren't overriding factors in the music. The vocals are pissed and kind of spoken, kind of shouted, and the back-ups kick in here and there. This band sounds like a time before sub-genres, and I like that a lot.

Not the best recording, nothing complex, just a punk screaming about everyday things, with fast loud music behind him. Reminds me a lot of 80's garage punk. I love 80's garage punk! It's loud, crude, angry, and true punk rock! The closest comparison of style, not substance is D.R.I. If you like old gutter punk style tunes you'll like this album.
