At the slaughterhouse, they are butchered one by one, still alive, as they use methods such as the stun-gun (designed for a cattles skull), NO HORSE is safe from this fate, even mares with foals. ALL to go to some fancy dinner plates in Japan, France, Italy, & Belguim. PLEASE COMMIT TO STOPPING THE BARBARIC SLAUGHTER OF AMERICAS HORSES. THEY ARE OUR NATIONAL TREASURE, NO OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HAS WILD MUSTANGS LIKE OURS. Please support Senate Bill S-311, and take a stand. These creatures must be protected, they are truly the LAST free roaming horses in the world. THEY are what make little children DREAM of magical friends.

Let us work that this time may come."~Albert.Schweitzer In memory of the starving, abused, 3 legged puppy that no one even noticed standing on the side of the road. I stopped my car, and actually saw this dogs face with such a look of hopelessness & despair, it was almost human. I got down on my knees, opened up my arms, and yelled out, "come here, little baby!!" ~ His voice shrilled in happiness, he was crying & screaming in HOPE, & he hobbled over to me & I hugged him & told him I wouldn't let him go back to wherever he had runaway from. "It's going to be okay, boy." I had dogfood in my car, and started handfeeding him. He was so sick, & so emaciated, that he actually started eating pebbles in the concrete when I didn't have any more food for him. Just as I was to pick him up & load him into my car (he was a pitbull, by the way), his "owner" rolled up. It was little ol' me pinned against a really big dude who was all cracked out. My ex at the time was also there, and totally took the crackheads side. (evil likes evil, what can I say?) I was in a domestic abuse situation at the time, & was physically threatened by my ex about trying to save this "stupid" dog. I couldn't stop him from taking the dog back. The abused little dog got taken away in his car, & we went away in ours.... but I couldn't quit. Later on, I decided to do some undercover investigating, since I figured, "how freakin' far could a 3-legged dog have gotten from where I found him, anyway???" ~ It took me 2 days, but I finally found an apartment manager who was willing to talk, and totally knew the guy, and the dog. The dude was homeless, a crackhead, and used the starving dog to make people feel sorry for him, & give him more money for more crack. I called the police. An awesome animal control police officer took over from there, & was successfully able to take custody of the dog. Not a day goes by that I don't think about this poor soul, and how NO ONE even cared as they roared by on their ways to the beach, the mall, the all you can eat buffets. But there he was, my little broken angel in disguise, & I was able to stop & do SOMETHING." -carolyne
