Much like any DJ, Gavin Dee started out as stary eyed raver who couldn't get enough of this amazing form of dance music. It was new, it was fresh and it made everyone dance like a demon had possesed them! He loved it! As the years went on Gavin Dee became more and more interested and wanted to become majorly involved within the dance music scene he loved so much. Half way through 2003 Gavin took up the dj art and never looked back. With hardcore a style of the past for him, he aimed his sights of the trance genre. Looking up to such Sydney dance icons as Nik Fish, Jumping Jack, Archie, Whisper, G-Banga etc... Gavin truely found his passion.
Early in 2004 Gavin was given his first gig through www.grooveinc.org An organisation that supports up and coming djs in Sydney and gives them a platform in which to be recognised by the scene. While it was only a small gig in the backroom, the feeling of playing out to a crowd touched him and left him wanting more.
Mid 2004 Gavin Dee was given a residency at Velocity ( Central Coast) The Friday nighter became a home away from home for Gavin as he got to experiment with his style, pushing boundries of trance. He was able to learn how to read the crowd and play accordingly. Gavin played a vast style of music from House to Hardstyle depending on what was working the dancefloor. Gavin became so involed with Velocity (changed to Trancelucent) he became the co-promoter alongside dj CYX and went on to play alongside international artists such as DJ DEAN, OLIVER KLITZING, DAVE JOY, MARK SHERRY as well as most home-grown talent there is.
Trancelucent didn't only exist with the club enviroment. Early in 2005 Trancelucent radio was launched on the RAW FM airwaves. Each week CYX and Gavin Dee hosted the Friday night fix of hard dance and had the pleasure to interview and showcase some of the best djs on the planet. Sadly the club and radio residency had to be given up as Gavin took off overseas for a European experience.
On his return Gavin has taken up a job with one of Sydney's most dynamic event management teams Josh and Friends. Here Gavin worked as a graphic designer. Gavin also took over the management of Wanted Thursdays, a weekly hard dance event at the Pavilion Hotel.
Gavin DeMyer is now focusing on electro house. Already playing some of Sydney's quality clubs such as Sublime, Tease & Temple. A set of Gavin Demyer is full of energy with hands in the air dancefloor devestation. Always jamed packed with quality tunes and plenty of cheeky bootlegs.
