HAY Ladies and Gents
Well were do i start.
Like most Sydney DJ's I started my life in the rave scene.One night in a warehouse some were in Silverwater ( Sydney ) one of my mates introduced me to one of the DJ's on the night.
Instently I got hooked an ran down and got my self the cheapest Turntables and Mixer I could fined after selling my first car.
I practiced every night trying to work out the most complex mixers that I could do, to bring a higher level of mixing and belived, and still do now to this day beleive that practice and apply your self to something and you will get the most out of your self.
Over the years in the rave scence I developed a taste for the song that was on the other side of the record ( the Flipside ), the one no one played or not many people did..and I guess I was looking for something freash and diffrent, something that I could define myself with , and that comes out today not only with the tracks I play but how I play too.
I dont think it takes much to beat mix and to go into a record store and ask the shop for whats hot at the moment, But to define your self and try and do something diffrent that takes work and confidence, and that is something i try and do with ever set I play. Weather it be getting into it with the crowd and dancing or pushing the crowd with in the style of music that they are into or doing scratching and DJ tricks through my hiphop DJ name DJ Styles.1.
I thought it was time to put my skills to the test and entered a Sydney Dj comp.
After battling it out over three or four heats i ended up coming 3rd being judged by the likes of Dj Kc ( Australian DMC Champ ), But it was not the winning prize i wanted ( a mixer ), but to find out were i fit in and to gain a residence through the venue that was holding the comp.
After speaking with the promoter i ended up filling in for Dj Kc ( From Melbourne ) every Wed night @ The Ranch nth Ryde on there main night with 500 - 600 people and running and promoting my own night on Sat nights Diamonds@ The Ranch.
I got my hiphop DJ name from my passion for all my music and styles, hence DJ Styles.1 , as for DJ Le'co my discoteka Dirtydeephumpsfukdahouse name .....DONT ASK!!!!!! LOl.
Over the 8 years I have had lots of fun DJ'ing and meet some great people and played at some great venues such as Coogee Palace, Black Bird Cockal Bay, Middle Bar Darrlinghurst, Castle Hill Taven, The Stanford Double Bay, Scary Canary Sydney City, and more and have had the chance to play to a crowd of 3000 people and international Dj's.
Now under my name DJ Le'co I have a taste for anything from latin tribal infused house to tekky driving electro/good fun and banging fuk'd up dirty disco want'togetnaked (what ever else you can through in) elektrohouse,Progressive House and deep sexy trumpet/sax driven house beats. Under my hiphop alter-ego name DJ styles.1 I focus on pushing the level up and through in some scatching and tricks to Bayarea/Hyphy, Reggatton/Dancehall, Oldskool, Hiphop, Cruch and RnB.
You can find me out and about any were around Sydney,but at the moment you can find me at my new home at Coogee Palace every Saturday night playing under my alter-ego hiphop name Dj Styles.1 playing all the hits. The crowd there really know how to party and the GIRLS really really know how to HEAT things up.
I recently had my life change in a way that would better me and make me a stronger person for the rest of my life as i said 2 words " I Do " as i got married on march the 4th in sydney great hall Sydney uni to Biana Mogilevsky,and could not of found a better more supportive person in my life.(Sorry ladies)
I love to get out and enjoy life and go running and bodyboarding down at the local - Bondi and work on that tan, meeting new people and do new things, and i guess that comes out through everything i do in life through my social life and my Dj'ing and my Customer Service and Management Sales career.
