Nick Pryke Bio
Nick always had a passion for music and after spending countless hours practising with the decks at work whilst bar tendering in his hometown of Port Macquarie, it was a natural progression to continue his passion by becoming a DJ. Nick gained his first residency at Port Macquarie’s top club – the Beach House in a room called Club X, which featured Australia’s top DJ’s on a regular basis. Playing a mixture of Hard Trance and Hard House week in week out, Nick had the opportunity to build his skill to a level that would take him a lot further.
Not one to miss an opportunity, Nick decided to move to Brisbane next and with in a week he was playing at various club nights around Brisbane. A short time after his move he was offered to play gigs such as, The Beat and also at the well-known club Family. Nick’s talent for playing to crowds and passion for music was evident in all of his sets. From there more exciting opportunities arose including playing at the famed Adventjah parties.
After two years of playing in Brisbane, Nick made the move back to Port Macquarie. There he went to play some of the local parties including Late Night and The Castle a massive bush doof with 5,000 people. After having success in all his previous moves, Sydney was the next place Nick really wanted to try.
During his time in Sydney he has gone onto play two DJ competitions firstly being the Transmission DJ Competition @ Sublime and followed by the Plastic DJ Competition. In both comps Nick secured a place in the Semi Finals. Nick has also played at Sublime @ home, Pleasure overload @ mandaley room, diversaty @ the roxbury, Trafic Jam (newcastle), Sorted Sundayze, Grooveinc @ Breed, Temple @ V'bar, System hardstyle @ metropilis. He has recently found a real passion with Tech Trance, Tribal and has also started playing House and Electro.
After playing alongside of some of Australia’s biggest names like, Nik Fish, Jumping Jack, Pee Wee Ferris, Paul Holden, Mark James, Kate Munro, Craig Obey, Groove Terminator and Andy Van at some of Australia’s top clubs, the future looks bright for Nick in 2007 where he hopes to play a lot more of Sydney’s clubs and events.
