Justice, Love and Peace are what I hope are at the center of my interests. I am driven by a sense of duty to make my life a constant sacrifice of justice-seeking love, which I think leads to peace. There can be no peace without justice. Having said that, I am interested in politics, religion and art. When saying I am interested in art I include all of the arts. I have a great appreciation for those who strive to share a portion of their inward beauty with this beautiful but broken world. I also enjoy studying the arts; for me this plays out in music and theatre, both of which have had a profound impact on my life thus far. I enjoy nature walks, going out, dining out, language, fashion and interior design. I am interested in a great deal, just ask and I will share.
people.
Lately I am on a Coldplay / Michael Stipe / Radiohead kick... but my musical interests include a wide range, from Johnny Cash to Madonna, from Classical/Instrumental to Dance/ Trance/ Techno. I also enjoy a lot of music that is not popular such as Avant-garde/post modern movements (electrical-acoustic). Phillip Glass, John Cage and Hiediko Kawamoto come to mind here. Again, I love virtually all music. Music is an important part of my life.
I have come to appreciate movies. I have not always enjoyed movies because I thought of them all as mass produced junk, but I have been won over. I enjoy independent films; "My Own Private Idaho" comes to mind, as does "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (which is actually a play, but I enjoyed the film version also). I prefer Theatre to film, but that is just a preference, each can be used as a way to express beauty as well as a way to express nothing/crap.Lately I saw "Kinsley" which was pretty good. I continue to be a huge Audrey Hepburn fan.
I am a NEWS whore, most likely I am watching CNN or BBC World NEWS, but do not fear, I do seek independent NEWS sources also... [I know how american/popular media systems work :( Corruption!]I also enjoy Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, HBO, Showtime, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Oxygen and BRAVO.
