D.R is a Manchester based rapper/poet/producer.He has been in the music business since the age of 12, writing his own material and performing at various locations throughout the Northwest.DR began as a house party DJ and organiser around his local town of Oldham, playing to regular audiences in his area. His lyrical talent soon shined as himself and fellow mates would rap and freestyle to hype up the crowd. A group was formed by the name of “Combination” which enabled them to perform live throughout Oldham creating a large fan base. DR decided to go alone and soon formed his own clique by the name of “Inglan’z Own”, consisting of various DJ’s, rappers, vocalists and producers. This represents the music production of their work and the DJ nights they provide.Since 2000 onwards, DR has achieved various recognition for his ability, by competing in rap competitions and freestyle contests. From this he has received great respect and numerous winning positions such as, (The In the City 2001 semi finals) and (The Chicago Rock Northwest finals 2004).As a unsigned artist, D.R has performed as a support act for some well known artists such as (Jamelia),(Skinny man), (Sway) and (Lethal Bizzle.) This created more further opportunities for DR and positive recognition.Back home in his home town of Oldham, DR is a well known figure as he has a great relationship with “his people”. Inglan’z Own” provide regular Rnb nights and Open mic events at various locations. They have provided successful and memorable events within Oldham, such as, the sold out “Grimy nights”, “Let’s get down nights” and the well remembered “Vogue bar events”.DR supports and works closely with many other local artists.
