Meltdown Club was born about two years ago when Pascal and Olivier started trying to do something with things called music instruments and started the band called Prologue. They were soon joined by Hugues, Viriya (of Miss Minou fame) and Wache Dégueulasse (Jimmy Blues Band's legendary drummer). A few months later, Miss Minou and Wache slammed Prologue's door for obvious reasons : limited talent and no discipline. Olivier also had to go back to native France, leaving Pascal and Hugues sad, alone, and depressed.
Both their girlfriends thought their music was terrible and that the project was a waste of time. Nevertheless, they carried on with the music (and without the girlfriends) until they recruited Mathieu and Frank on drums, bass and as their girlfriends to become Meltdown Club. The name was a perfect fit given their situation. A year (and a few bruises) later, they managed to record a 5-track demo album, Unreleased Greatest Hits, which was very popular in Hugues’ family. They've since played in an old Montreal strip club and in a karaoke bar in Repentigny in front of raucous, 7-people crowds. They will soon begin a world tour of bingo venues, IGA parking lots and metro stations. But right before that, they plan on setting the Quai des Brumes on fire on Sep. 13th along 4 other bands.
