"Nia's voice elicits dark and moody feelings from an ancient past." Quote by Terry McNeal a Contemporary Christian Rock singer/songwriter.~TMAC ProductionsHer signature voice cannot be overlooked. If you've heard her once you will know her forever. She has a passion and soulfulness in her voice that have an emotional impact, creating a variety of feelings in her listeners. She can make you cry or make you feel like you own your world with ethereal heights that are intangible as air.Early in the spring of 2005 'nia was "discovered while singing Acapella at the Rusty Nail.
She was promptly introduced to engineer/keyboardist John Korell at Swampworks Studio,
by Chuck "Coyote" Larson. After listening to her demo CD, John and ‘nia decided to
put an act together, using background tracks added to live keyboards. His
wish was to introduce this talented performer to the local area and to help develop
her songwriting abilities.
‘nia began her career with a demo contract at East Avalon Studios in Muscle Shoals,
Alabama. She sang backup on an album recorded for Terry McNeal, which was
produced by Jack Holder at 'Sounds Unreel' studio in Memphis, TN , for CBS Epic Records in Nashville, TN. ‘nia has been recognized and given inspiration by ‘Roseanne Cash’, ‘Suzy Nolen’ – backup singer for ‘Miami Sound Machine’, ‘Don Daily, producer and Rick Hall - owner of the famous 'Fame' Studio's in Muscle Shoals, AL and most recently by
Todd Mark Rubenstein, TMR Productions, Nashville, TN..
While living in Santa Barbara, California ‘nia became the lead female vocalist for the 'Brian Faith Band' with former members from the 'The Strawberry Alarm Clock Band'. After a year in preparation, 'nia and John started playing in a few clubs in the Wilmington area. They soon discovered that a full band was needed to fully showcase her unique and truly emotional vocal interpretations of a variety of artists, as well as her original offerings. Therefore, in early 2007 Steel Angel was formed to fill that need. Each member brings a special talent with him culminating in a powerful foundation from which 'nia's voice soars to new heights.
A WORD TO ALL MY FRIENDS:After losing my husband, Mike, in a car accident in November of 2004, 'I took a new path to understanding my own life and looking towards the future by immersing myself in my music and letting God "take the wheel." I moved to Wilmington, NC in the summer of 2005 and immediately began preparing my original writings and looking for support in the local music scene. I've was given this voice as a gift for a reason and have now come to understand that I'm to share with others the power of emotional healing through the vibration of song." I have recently begun performances in the local and surrounding area music scene and am expecting to release my first cd, self titled 'nia, in early to mid 2008.I want to thank all my friends that have been supporting me, with all my heart. To all my new myspace friends, thanks for taking an interest in my music. If you'll just stick with me I promise I will pull a rabbit out of this hat!!!!LAYOUT CODE
