This documentary is not only about Imogen Heap, rather it will focus on MUSIC and the reactions and EMOTIONS it invokes, and many artists are involved. We just wrapped up our last bit of filming in London, while visiting Imogen and Kate.

My Interests

"Map The Music" is a documentary feature film about music, focusing on what it means to people. The project attempts to explain how it helps us survive through not only difficult times, but in everyday life. We will have a nice balance of fan and artist interviews, backstage, studio and live performance footage. A very emotional, honest, and exciting piece - Map the Music is sure to find its way into the hearts of all who see it!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone and everyone with something to say. We interviewed people all over the United States about their thoughts on music...talking about how it affects mood and behaviour... and how it seems to have the ability to heal people. But why? How? After all, the best place to find people who love music is at a concert! Although there is a vast pool of amazing artists out there, we decided to get out on the road with Imogen first because she is a truly unique, intelligent artist, and being fans ourselves we realized that she has some wonderful fans who we wanted to talk to! We knew they would definitely speak for themselves (pun absolutely intended!)

Music:

When first filming for this project in November 2006 we got to know the fans of the lovely Imogen Heap . And of course we asked Immi what music means to her too! Plus we spent some time with some other brilliant musicians and friends such as Zoe Keating , Kate Havnevik , Rachael Yamagata , and Charlotte Martin , as well as Cary Brothers , Levi Weaver , and Guy Sigsworth of Frou Frou . Together with these talented artists, we looked further into the affects of music on the human spirit. We have spoken with various music producers, teachers, managers, fans, musical therapists, and DJs such as Nic Harcourt of KCRW .“So long as the human spirit thrives on this planet, music in some living form will accompany and sustain it and give it expressive meaning.” – Aaron Copland
