..
"a superb show with some stunning costumes, a tongue in cheek approach, a great soundtrack and a little bit of naughtiness thrown in for good measure. If you get a chance to see this act - do" (Skin Deep)
Miss Fortune is one of the norths leading burlesque performers. Since 2005 Ruby has been creating and performing glorious burlesque, a mix of classic glamour, cheesecake, comedy and pure sensuality. Along with strutting and shimmying her way across stages around the UK she is also a girl on film. Miss Ruby has featured in 2 documentaries, 'Cultural Conversations' and 'A Day in the Fabulous Life of Miss Ruby Fortune'. She has modelled for companies such as What Katie Did, Collectif and Valkyrie Corsets and featured in magazines such as Total Tattoo and Skin Deep.
Miss Ruby is a complicated creature of many passions, all of which are reflected within her body of work. Her heart lies in a bygone era of decadence, glamour and femininity. She adores cheesecake modelling, vintage fashion and style, seamed stockings, corsets and red lips. However, her dark side is often revealed when performing for nights 'A Midsummer/Midwinter Nightmare' with the Ruby Revue. Here Ruby can show her dark desires, a love of old horror and b-movies and a fascination with fetishism. A true femme fatale.
When not on stage Miss Fortune keeps herself busy by organising her own events, including 'Angel Cake Burlesque' in Manchester and 'Blood, Sweat and Tassels' in Liverpool. She has also been known to flex her vocal chords with the fabulous rockabilly trio Tailshakers. All of which can be seen in her top friends.
Miss Ruby performs a range of acts from the classic to the twisted and below is her current list of acts. This is amongst a range of classics which can be customised to fit your event.
MINNIE THE MOOCHER - A classic striptease done Miss Fortune style! Lots of pink, glamour, flowers and feathers make this a truly beautiful act and Ruby shows her parasol and tassel twirling skills with real style! perfomed to 'Minnie The Moocher' (video on profile)
UGLY DUCKLING - Ruby presents a classic tale of the transformation from ugly duckling to beautiful burlesque performer! Mixing comedy with true glamour this act is both fun and elegant. performed to 'Ugly Duckling' and 'Stardust'
MAD LOVE - A dark act involving a classic striptease and some unexpected twists. Ruby escapes from a lunatic asylum and is out to seek revenge on the man who did her wrong! performed to a track created by Ruby including 'Mad About The Boy'
MY BABY JUST CARES FOR ME - Ruby shows her vocal skills with a look back to a bygone era.
CLASSIC FAN DANCE - The celebrated art of burlesque in all its glory and a tribute to old stars of burlesque with Ruby's beautiful big pink ostrich feathers.
THE RETURN OF ANNA NICOLE SMITH - Ruby's infamous tribute to the tragic star. Anna is back and this time she's pissed!
