My Artwork at Portfolios.com
With each painting I begin with a mess of random color and progress by painting around and over areas. I continue layering until I'm satisfied. Sometimes I have to sacrifice something beautiful but I don't dwell on the losses.
I'm a mom, a wife and an artist. In my busy day, I like to check out creative works and music on myspace. My random searches have tapped me into great stuff from all over the world and frankly I'm surprised at the offerings I find without an edit from the publicity/business machine that determines who is viable/sellable or valid. It gives me hope and takes me to new ways of thinking.
I choose to paint at home, avoiding a traditional studio. It may limit my scale and style a bit but I'd rather be by the kitchen and with the television close by. I discovered art as a child in a shopping mall in Texas. Owned by a family who collected, I saw Stella's and Warhol's by Niemans and Dillards. I'd like to thank that family for exposing their collection to the masses.
My eight-year-old son has a ripe imagination and I post his drawings in my photos. If I could just have a fraction of what he's got in that little brain of his, I'd be at the Whitney. Picasso said something about children this age...can't remember what it was...
Also in my pictures is a tribute to my brother Chris. We lost him in 2001. He had an amazing spirit which stays with us always.

My Interests

Painting, drawing, my kids, God, praying, dreaming, monday art with Bruce, books, the feel of paper, television, finding the perfect pillow...oh, and Burberry, lots and lots of Burberry.
