nathan doesn't believe in ghosts. mandy sort of does. sometimes they argue about it. neither one is ever swayed in their stance. they both really like to make music though. they've made indie-pop with a band called fitzgerald for a while now. but they wanted to make electronic music too. they really like electronic pop songs. so they started ghost in the water. they have an album that they finally finished, it's called "tooth". why don't you buy it?

Nathan and Mandy pair up in a mess of extension cords and offer the ears a soothing dream soundtrack mixed with sweet Björk-like vocals. There may be only two physical bodies onstage, but close your eyes, and you'll hear a variety of sounds, from violins and traditional guitars to innocent chimes and creative percussion. The combination of synthesized sounds and actual instruments creates a beautiful fusion between technological inspirations and wholesome handmade melodies. Ghost in the Water put a little cloud under your chair and another one behind your head.

When the Minneapolis duo began to write songs that did not fit into that mold, they formed Ghost In The Water. I just so happened to stumble upon the duo’s myspace page recently and was stunned to hear such gorgeous, angelic music. If I must describe the duo, the music is in the electro-indie pop realm. However, that would seem to simplify the elements at play here. The male/female vocals play off each other with remarkable results. The musical backdrops are playful while still adding great detail to the songs. The duo just completed their debut album. Frankly, I can not wait to hear the finished product.

L’ultimo album dei Fitzgerald risale al 2004, si intitola Raised By Wolves ed è reperibile presso il sito della 2024 records. Recentemente è arrivato un contatto in redazione che ci informava del nuovo progetto di Nathan e Mandy; un side project con un approccio più contenuto e intimo che si serve del nome Ghost in the Water. Le nuove tracce che abbiamo ascoltato sono molto interessanti ed evidenziano le capacità vocali molto chill di mandy che lotta con un tappeto di textures e l’ostinazione di un violoncello elaborando una narrazione un po’ sghemba come la prima Bjork quando forzava il core della tonalità .
