About Me

Hi! ^_^ I compose computer music with "new school trackers" like Buzz and Psycle, and with lots of other free and/or open source software. I'm a student working hard to earn advanced degrees in signal processing and communication, with studies in composition, performance, and audio production along the way. My first computer was an Atari 400.
I am the curator of Nishi , a netlabel formed in 2002 by K.M. Krebs (aka 833-45 ) as a sub-label of the (in)famous Canadian MP3 net label No Type . Nishi's sphere of influence has since expanded to encompass all parts of the world, featuring artists from Russia, Japan, Brazil, France, Germany, USA, Italy, Ukraine, Australia, and many other points on the globe. From dubhouse to abstract ambient, we try not to let genres get in our way, but attend instead to the quality and honesty of the music (which are intricately subjective & nebulous).
As a member of Pirate Audio Soundsystem , a free tekno collective founded in 1991, I also co-produce the internet radio show "The Pirate Annex" with Jack Acid and other collective members. Each Sunday evening from 6pm to midnight US Central Time (2300-0500 hours UTC) we play a variety of dj mixes, live sets, albums, and long playing tracks on the SPAZ collective's netradio stream . We also hope to add interviews and other features soon. "Greetings from the Aether", a show I produced featuring three hours of independent and netlabel releases in various genres, was part of our lineup for most of last year. The format of the show was based on a three hour block I hosted on EnoughRecords' wonderful, but now defunct, netradio stream. "Greetings from the Aether" is on hiatus now and will return as an independent podcast sometime in the near future.

Oh, and 264,000+ "friends"... *rolls eyes*

Try to understand that MySpace has nearly 200,000,000 accounts, and there is no way I can add (or would even want to add) every random request I get.

Please don't take this too personally. I prefer to maintain control over my own page. There are too many scams, k00ks, and a$$holes on the net for it to be otherwise. I'm mostly a pretty nice fellow. Mostly.
