When it comes to Bass Guitars
there's only one....
& every Artist & Creative force who have left their mark in this world...
Excerpt from Mike Visceglia: 'The Chris Jisi interview' bassist & editor of Bassplayer magazine: ?
MV: You must have the chance to see and hear numerous bass players from all over the world. Who are today's most promising, but perhaps not well-known players?
And who are the players whose gigs you make a point of always checking out?
CJ: My choice for perhaps the most underrated Gotham bassist is Gene Perez; from the stuff he plays on the Masters At Work remixes and Nuyorican Soul to Willie Colon he's just an absolute groove monster.
-Chris Jisi
Louis Benedetti teams up with Bass Master Gene Perez and brings us this foot stompin Instrumental House. Gene Perez needs no introduction. A Bass virtuoso who has played with many influential legends ranging from rock to R&B and in our opinion partly responsible for bringing the live musicianship back to the forefront in Club Music with his unique sound. Bottom's Up showcases Gene in top shape laying a solid hip-shaking groove while dropping his signature riffs and Licks at the right spots. In addition to the house mixes, there is also a special bonus track recorded live straight to tape uncut and unedited while rehearsing with Selan on Fender Rhodes. Often imitated but never duplicated, Gene Perez deserves our recognition for his influential style and flavor that he brings to House Music and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented musician..
