Olivier Velay is an influential character in the international House Music scene for more than 10 years now. After some succesful studies in communication, journalism and marketing, he starts his career in the music business integrating DISTANCE MUSIC in march 1995, a label that, at the time, just started. After 6 months, his abilitiy to pick up quality music with a cross over potential, coupled with a very good musical knowledge, see him moving on from trainee to A&R Manager for Distance. This will be the beginning of a successful career, leading DISTANCE MUSIC through the years to become one of the most successful and recognised House Music label in the late 90s and beginning of the 2000s, signing such artists as Kevin Yost, Paul Johnson, Ron Trent, Larry Heard, Romanthony, Sandy Rivera, Todd Edwards, DJ Deep to name but a few. The climax will be the original signature and explosion worldwide of the tracks « Finally » by Kings Of Tomorrow in 2001 and « Diamond Life » by Louie Vega & Jay « Sinister » Sealee in 2003. In 2004, Olivier decides to set up his own structure to have complete freedom on budgets and signatures. He teams up with his mate DJ RORK (Soldiers Of Twilight), and together they create STALWART. Besides his office work, Olivier Velay is also an in-demand DJ. Starting mixing professionally in 1998, he plays funky energetic house sets to dedicated crowds in the biggest parisian clubs (Rex Club, Queen, Red Light, Club 287, Wagg, Mezzanine de L Alcazar) but also overseas (London, Miami, Estonia, Mexico, UK). He is now resident DJ at the bar-club Sanz-Sans in Paris (a legendary place in the parisian nightlife) every Friday night.
