Dj Shaggy D

Dj Shaggy D was born November 8th, 1984 in a small town of Amherst, Nova Scotia. He lived there until he was 6 years old and then moved to Ottawa with his family. Growing up he was always fascinated with music. When he couldn't sleep his mother would drive him around downtown and he would always want to pass by the nightclubs and watch the people stand outside while listening to music in the car as they drove by. In his teenage years he would pass time by taping songs off the radio on to a tape and called them dj's mixes. On his 19th birthday he wrote into a radio station and asked if he could be taught how to dj. He got a reply a few days later from Ottawa's own Dj Kiwi and was told to go to Space Nightclub and that a guy named Pablo would be able to help. The first chance he got he went in and met with Pablo who later on took him on as his apprentice. Learning the tools of the trade by one of Ottawa's most respected dj' and also learning from other Ottawa dj's, Dj Shaggy D always wanted to learn more each time he went. After 3 months of practicing, he later was the opening act for Pablo Diablo at Space nightclub. On November 9th, 2004 he got his first offical gig at Space. Djing for Miss Canada at the time while she was in town. After that he became the resident Dj on fridays and saturdays playing for a crowd of 600+ each night for a year and a half. Later on he took a break and started djing on his friend's Daddy Rich radio show Midnight Jamz on CKCU which was later canceled due to misunderstandings. He then jumped back to the nightclub circut djing all over Ottawa at various Nightclubs and events. Soon after he jumped back on radio with his own radio show called The Bpm Mixshow as well as getting back Midnight Jamz.
